Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Current 🤭 Corrections”

Scripture: Proverbs 3:11-12

My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord, nor despise His reproof, For whom the Lord loves He disciplines, even as a father, the son in whom he delights.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

My child, don’t forget how much I love you. The love I have for you is greater than any love you could ever know on earth. When I correct you, I do it because I love you. You may not love the way discipline and correction feels in the moment but you will love what it produces in you. Don’t reject my correction, instead embrace it. Allow My Spirit to instruct you in the way you should go. When you go the wrong way, I don’t correct you to make you feel bad, I do it because I want you to soar to the heights you are created for.

Application: What will I do about it?

Embracing correction is something we are not always good at. We need to get good at receiving and responding to correction because the discipline of the Lord will fast track our progress toward what God has called us to. When we get corrected, we should write it down and share it with our Track Crew so that we have accountability in the correction.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, thank You for being the One who delivers our correction. Not only do we want to be corrected, we need to be corrected. We love you Lord, and trust your correction.

I Am Grateful For… the Lord’s correction.
