Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Stay Diligent”

Scripture: Proverbs 24:30-34

30 I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; 31 thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. 32 I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: 33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest — 34 and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

I have entrusted you with a lot to care for. Be diligent to care for everything I have entrusted to you. You are a steward of what I have given you. If you want to continue to grow in blessing then be and stay diligent as a good steward of what you’ve been given.

Application: What will I do about it?

From little things to big things stewardship matters. Time, talent, money, property, relationships, our bodies, spirits, emotions and thoughts are some of the big categories of stewardship we are responsible to care for. To not care for them well is foolish, to tend to them well is wise.

Prayer:

God, thank you for entrusting us with so much. We commit today to being more diligent in caring for all you have entrusted us with. Holy Spirit, point out where to begin and give us the energy to stay diligent. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

I Am Grateful For… opportunities to steward what God has blessed us with.
