Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Desperate Times”

Scripture: Psalm 107:19,20

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Round and round we go! This Psalm points out a pattern that shouldn’t be ignored. The children get themselves into a troubled spot, they get stressed out, and then they decide to cry out like a lost child who can’t find mom in a crowded space.

My word, the spontaneous light that comes from My Spirit heals and delivers from the place of destruction. I send my word when you cry out and ask for help from a place of desperation.

Application: What will I do about it?

Staying desperate for God is a critical component to staying on track.
With comfort and carelessness comes wandering and destruction.
With desperation and hunger God brings direction and guidance.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, be my guide. I want to remain in a place of hunger for You.
You are the Way, without You we are lost. Help us to not forget and to show others how to find the Way through crying out in desperation. Amen

I Am Grateful For… Desperate times.
