Neal’s Lit Word

Title: "Enabled to Love"

Scripture: 1 Peter 3:8-9 (amplified)

8 Finally, all of you be like-minded [united in spirit], sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted [courteous and compassionate toward each other as members of one household], and humble in spirit; 9 and never return evil for evil or insult for insult [avoid scolding, berating, and any kind of abuse], but on the contrary, give a blessing [pray for one another’s well-being, contentment, and protection]; for you have been called for this very purpose, that you might inherit a blessing [from God that brings well-being, happiness, and protection].

Observation: What is God saying to me?

Fighting in the family of God is not acceptable. God is not ok with inner-squad turmoil. When people in the family of God begin to turn on each other, hate one another and speak horrible abuses about one another the Lord despises it. The answer to these situations is not to combat abuse with abuse, instead you must pray and bless in response to hate and disunity. Your natural response is to fight hate with hate, but the answer to eliminating hate is love and truth. When you have the courage to trust God in these sorts of trials, He will show up with supernatural blessing and make a way that you didn't know existed!
To the one who is born of God’s Spirit, born again, renewed and regenerated by the Holy Spirit the heavens are opened wide. You have been connected to God through this gift and are now called His children. The heavens are opened above your life, the wisdom of the Creator of every universe is available and planted within you. Lean into Him no matter the trail or turmoil.

Application: What will I do about it?

We have been given a great responsibility as born again believers. We are called to connect and channel the love of Jesus to a dying world that naturally wants to hate more than love. Today, choose to love no matter what comes your way.

Prayer:

Jesus, give us the supernatural power to love in the face of hate. You gave us the example to follow, through You we can do this with ease! Amen

I Am Grateful For… being enabled to love no matter what.
