Title: “Voice Commands”

Scripture: Psalm 119:133 (amp)

Establish my footsteps in [the way of] Your word;
Do not let any human weakness have power over me [causing me to be separated from You].

Observation: What is God saying to me?

There is nothing worse than being separated from the Living God. Our life is found in connection with the King of Kings. When we stray and wander from his way we find ourselves in a lost and miserable place. Through learning to hear the whispers of the Spirit we are able to stay close to the Savior. At the direction and commands of His voice we are able to stay near through obedience to His commands. Weakness causes us to wander from His word. Recognizing our tendency toward human weakness can keep us in a place of awareness in order that we stay connected to His voice commands.

Application: What will I do about it?

God’s sheep hear and know His voice, they follow His direction. We are children of God, He is the Good Shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture. Today let’s make a fresh commitment to hearing and obeying the voice of our Shepherd, the Whisper of the Spirit.

Prayer:

Father, we admit, one of our greatest weaknesses as humans is our tendency to stray from Your voice simply because we stop listening to You. Increase our attentiveness today, cause us to long to be established in Your footsteps. Help us to hear Your words and follow your voice commands. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
