Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Kids of the King”

Scripture: 1 John:3:1

See how great a love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are.

Observation: What is God saying to me?

You are My (Father God) adopted children. I am the King of all creation and you are My kids. Try to imagine My kingdom! It is filled with love, joy and peace, it is filled with light, riches and unity. There is no darkness in My kingdom at all. No jealousy, fear or hate are found in My kingdom. I looked at you, a lost, lonely and hurting orphan and called you to be My child. I have given you full rights and access to Me and My kingdom resources. You have access to everything as an adopted child of God. Do you get the picture? Everything you need is available to you. Do not act as lost and lonely orphans, instead, live into your new identity of kids of the King.

Application: What will I do about it?

Far too often we fall into stinking thinking and return to our old identity before we were adopted as children of God. No longer! It's time to allow this new reality of kingship to cause us to think of ourselves differently. Jesus died to adopt us into this perfect kingdom. Today, we receive this new identity with joy, confidence and expectation.

Prayer:

Lord, You have given us rights we did not deserve. You are full of goodness and there is no darkness in you at all. Expand our understanding of this new reality. Today we receive Your offer with gladness and will walk as your children with the deepest gratitude. Thank You for allowing us to be kids of the King who have access to every kingdom resource. Amen!

I Am Grateful For… my new identity in Christ.
