Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Place of Grace”

Scripture: Psalm 52:6-9

And the righteous will see and fear, and will laugh at him, saying, “Behold, the man who would not make God his refuge, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, and was strong in his evil desire.” But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God’ I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever. I will give Thee thanks forever, because Thou hast done it!

Observation: What is God saying to me?

This is a stark comparison between those who do and do not make God their refuge. Where you place your trust matters. To trust in your own strength, money, intelligence, influence or relationships outside of Christ is foolish and always lands you in a pit of destruction. To set your trust in Me, the Living God is always a winning strategy because I not only know the best path for you, I will lead you down it, hand in hand, step for step.

Application: What will I do about it?

I will prosper in the hand of God, keeping my heart set on the Savior, with a clean conscience, constantly purging my mind through confession and repentance in order to stay in a place of grace with My God.

Prayer:

Holy God, You are my refuge. You are my safety and stronghold. The One I place my trust in is You and You alone. Though armies may stack around me, because my trust is in you I will sleep sweet, like a baby in the arms of love. Amen!
