Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “Reframed Thinking”

Scripture: Luke 11:9,13

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”

Observation: What is God saying to me?

I am a good Father who knows how to give you good gifts. I came to unwind the mess of your life. I came to reverse the curse of sin and death. Keep on asking, seeking and knocking on my door. Do not quit. When you ask, seek and knock I will open the door, but I need to see that you want it.
I am not a “get out of jail free card” or a cheap trick you can use to escape the punishment of sin. Reversing the curse for you cost my life and I require your total commitment, heart, soul, mind and strength to live in the full blessing that I offer.

Application: What will I do about it?

Come to the Father with the expectation of good. Not to get a handout and go my separate way. Desire to live in His presence and goodness. Apart from God there is no goodness. With Him, is all the goodness the world has ever or will ever know. Focus on worship and centering the mind and heart of Jesus today. He is always good, always blessing and never desiring harm for His children.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, You are my helper now and forever. Though I walk this road imperfectly, I trust You to help me overcome through Your power, might and goodness. In Jesus’ Name. Amen

I Am Grateful For… a helper from heaven
