Neal’s Lit Word

Title: “I’ll Go Anyway”

Scripture: John 21:18

Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you used to gird (dress) yourself, and walk wherever you wished; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will gird (dress) you, and bring you where you do not wish to go.”

Observation: What is God saying to me?
The older we get the more we have to be dependent on Jesus leading us and not just doing what we want to. Our steps are ordered by the Lord. As we become dependent on God's plan and His guidance and become less dependent on making our own decisions and going where we want to, we experience the peace of walking in His plan, even if we don’t love where we are going.

Application: What will I do about it?
Once again, we have to root our minds and hearts in trust. The Holy Spirit knows where to lead us, He knows where we need to go. His plans are better than our plans. We have to set our minds securely on this fact.

Prayer:
Holy Father, you know best! You are the creator of the beginning and the end. You know all things. You know why you created us and what you created us for. Your plan is what we want! Show us how to stick close to your lead. In Jesus Name. Amen.

I Am Grateful For… Jesus being our Leader.
