Title: Rest On Us 

Scripture: Isaiah 11:2 

And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. 

Observation: What is God saying to me? 

This is an old testament reference to Jesus. When it says the “Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him,” this means that the Holy Spirit is resting upon Jesus. 

Wisdom, understanding, counsel, strength, knowledge and the fear of the Lord are upon Him. He lived this out perfectly on the earth. His body embodied the Holy Spirit and He opened a way for the Holy Spirit to now embody us. What rested upon Him is now available to rest on us. 

Application: What will I do about it?   

Today I embrace the Holy Spirit by inviting Him to rest on me. This reality is the greatest gift the world has ever known. God made a way for His Spirit to empower imperfect people enabling them to be victorious over the powers of darkness and the effects of sin. I will consciously embrace this gift through welcoming the Holy Spirit today. 

Prayer: 

Heavenly Father, the reality of what you have done is so big it's hard to comprehend. I would be foolish to settle for anything less than all you have for me. You went all in for me, I choose to go all in with You. As you rested on Jesus, I am grateful that you love us so much that you choose to rest on us too! I accept your rest. I accept you Holy Spirit. In Jesus Name, Amen.
