Easy as 123

Season #1 Episode #5

Builders and Foundations

46 “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

47 Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like:

48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.

49 But the one who has heard and has not acted accordingly, is like a man who built a house on the ground without any foundation; and the torrent burst against it and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.”

THOUGHT BREAKDOWN

No one in their right mind would choose to build a house that will eventually be smashed to oblivion. That would be a silly waste of time and money. Why would anyone knowingly do this?

Answer: You wouldn’t.

Problem: Many people are doing this because they have no idea how to build a solid foundation.

Solution: It’s as easy as 123. But, how easy is 123? Well, it depends on a few things...

Do you know how to come to Jesus? Do you know how to sit with the Spirit?

That’s important because it’s...

Step 1. Come to Me (Jesus says) Hmm. Sounds simple enough. Here’s where it gets difficult. You have to eliminate distractions and elevate the importance of being with Him. Otherwise, everything, everyone and their brother, distraction, will show up when you are doing your best to come to Him. If you get yourself in a position of coming to Him, sitting with Him, then you are positioned to hear his voice. That’s important because that is…

Step 2. Hear My Word (Jesus’ word) That’s the Lit word. The word the Spirit speaks to you is His LIT WORD. It’s the word with present power to change your life if acted upon. In order to hear His word, you have to be awake to His voice. You have to be born of the Spirit and enabled to hear. This is where it gets fun. When you come to Him, seeking Him with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, the Spirit makes good on His promise and gives you His Spirit. Once you have heard His word then you can act on what was said. That’s important because that is…

Step 3. Act Upon Them. When the Spirit speaks a word to you when you are sitting with Him, that is the word you MUST ACT UPON. Whatever He shows you, whatever you hear, that’s what you do. By acting on what He says, you are building what He has. The Spirit has a solid well built life planned for every one of us. That being true, it requires obedience to what He says.

Let’s keep this in the context of the story. You are the house. You are being built into something strong, a structure that is able to withstand the heavy downpour and onslaught of opposition. To do this, to be this well-built house you have to follow the Master Plan. The plan gives you step by step instruction for being built into the plan that was written for you. What you have to do is Easy as 123. Sit with the Spirit, Listen to the Plan, Go and DO IT.

WHAT IS THE SPIRIT SAYING?

To be Built Well, in this life as a human being, you have to build your house on the rock. 123

Come, Hear, Act. If you do this everyday then you will be solid. If you do not do this then you are building a superficial, shaky, weak, structure. Eventually something will come along and break you down. The floods do come. Get ready, Build Well. Be Ready. The Spirit only gives you one step at a time, take them as you get them. Don’t get ahead of the Master.

WHAT WILL I DO ABOUT IT?

Today I will take my steps because they are as easy as 123. In this I will discover what my next right step is. #onedayatatime #stepbystep
